Why do the Nike Zoom Victory track spikes have a hole at the back of the heel?
It’s put there so that your heel can slot into it, thus locking your foot to the bottom of the shoe. It is designed this way to save weight. The conventional way would be to build up padding to cup the heel, but obviously they were trying to make it light as possible.
