Help with Cleveland Golf Wedges – Do I really need all the degrees?
Trying to add a couple of wedges to my set and decided on Cleveland CG-14s. Only issue is there are various clubs between 48-60 degrees. While I’d love to own all, I’d like to start with 2 good wedges then add as I need to.
Main areas I need help are to get close to hole from about 40-50ft out and also from the bunker.

Determine what degree of your current PW. Clubs are normally staggered 4 degrees. I find the game easier when I have a full shot into the green versus a touch shot. I play a GW (51 degrees) and a low bounce SW (56 degrees). The low bounce wedge is a little flatter, so I can open up the face to approx 58 degrees if necessary. That is really rare.
Believe it or not, a LW (58 or 60 degree) requires a little bit of skill to hit consistently in all conditions. It will magnify your faults if you are not a solid ball striker. In reality, a LW is truly only needed once or twice a round. With a GW, you will use it more on the 80 – 110 yard approach shot.
